- While the average worker in Idaho brought home $26,907 in pay in 2002, the state’s construction workers made on average $28,722, an increase of 6.32% more than the average worker in Idaho.
- The number of businesses in Idaho grew from 29,920 in 1997 to 33,113 in 2002, an increase of 10.67%. Construction establishments in Idaho however, increased by 7.18% from 5,360 in 1997 to 5,745 in 2002.
- Of the 3,193 new businesses established between 1997 and 2002 in Idaho, 385 or 12.06% of those establishments were in the construction industry.
- According to Union Membership and Coverage Database, available at www.unionstats.com, in 2006, only 11.3 percent of Idaho’s private construction workforce belonged to a construction trade union. That means that approximately 89 out of 100 Idaho’s private construction workers do not belong to a labor union.
